The Nurses
The nursing team is crucial to the success of each of our veterinary surgeries. The nurses work mainly at our Preston and Kirkham practices, but often assist the vets out on calls.

Nicola Appleby BSc RVN
Head Nurse at Oakhill - Conway Drive
Nicola is the head nurse at the Conway Drive Branch and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing from Myerscough College and is a qualified Hills Nutritional Advisor.
Nicola has two hand reared cats called ‘Sox’ and ‘Hugo’. She enjoys horse riding in her spare time and has an ex-racehorse.

Gemma Halse DipHE CVN
Nurse at Oakhill - Conway Drive
Gemma qualified as a nurse with us in 1996, then a move further afield led her to leave us in 1998 working in a city hospital before taking some time out to finally fulfill her dream of travelling.
On her return to the UK Gemma spent 4 years working as a locum nurse, enabling her to work in many different practices. She returned to us in Febraury 2003
In her spare time Gemma enjoys running, listening to live music and persuading her huge Bull Mastiff Teya to get off the sofa.
In July 2014 Gemma passed her Diploma in Advanced clinical nursing

Karen Kenning RVN
Nurse at Oakhill - Conway Drive and Goosnargh
Karen has worked at Conway Drive since 2004 and has been working towards her veterinary nursing exams, which she passed in May 2012.
She owns 3 Staffordshire Bull Terriers; ‘Poppy, Parker and Oz’, one of which was adopted through work, as well as 2 Horsfield Tortoises called Bert and Ernie.
In her free time she enjoys horse riding and owns with her sister a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse called ‘Steal’.

Kate Vincent RVN

Angela Morawski RVN
Nurse at Oakhill - Watling St Road
Angela has been a member of the practice since 2005. She attended Myerscough College on day release and qualified as a registered Veterinary Nurse in September 2007.
She is currently head nurse at the Watling St Road branch. Angela enjoys horse riding in her spare time and competes at dressage with her warm blood ‘Jo’. She also has a Labrador cross called Beanie.

Natalie Turner RVN
Nurse at Oakhill - Conway Drive & Watling St Road
Natalie joined our team in September 2013 from a practice in Manchester. She qualified from Myrescough College in 2013 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing.
Natalie has a cat the she rescued called Rupert. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, spending time with her friends and taking her Nanna's dog for long walks.

Sarah Livesey RVN
Nurse at Oakhill - Kirkham & Goosnargh
Sarah joined the practice in June 2014. Sarah gained her Bsc (Hons) in veterinary nursing and after working in a practice for a couple of years and then went on to lecture on Veterinary Nursing at Myrescough. Sarah has now returned to practice and aims to study further focusing on dog training and behaviours. In her spare time she enjoys travelling around the country shows and training dogs; in particular her working gundogs, which she hopes to start competitions with next year.
